Glass opens up a staircase. It lets light through. It doesn’t block sightlines. And it makes smaller spaces feel bigger.
We install glass panels, glass with stainless steel posts and glass with wood-capped handrails. The panels are tempered safety glass. The hardware is stainless steel. Every system meets Ontario building code.
Glass railings work best in open-concept homes, loft spaces and anywhere you want the staircase to disappear into the room instead of dominating it. They pair well with open riser stair designs.
Glass railing systems cost more than wood or metal. The material is heavier. The install takes longer. But the result is a railing that looks like it belongs in a different price bracket than everything else in the room.
If you’re considering glass, come to the showroom. Pictures don’t do it justice. You need to see the thickness of the panels, the way light moves through them and how the hardware connects. That’s where most people commit.
Metal gives you clean lines and durability. It doesn’t shift, shrink or expand the way wood does. Once it’s installed, it stays.
We build with steel and other custom metal systems depending on the look you want and what will meet code. Steel suits everything from simple contemporary designs to more architectural custom builds.
Metal railing systems work well in contemporary builds, industrial-style lofts and homes where the homeowner wants something low-maintenance. They’re also a strong choice for open staircases where you want the railing to feel light without using glass.
Ontario building code sets specific requirements for baluster spacing, handrail height and load capacity. Metal systems need to meet all of them. Our sales reps check code compliance at the quote stage so there are no surprises at inspection.
Wood is the standard. It’s what most people picture when they think of a staircase railing. And when it’s done right, it’s warm, solid and built to last.
We work with red oak, white oak, maple and other hardwood species. The species you pick affects the colour, grain pattern and how it takes stain. Our showroom has samples of each species side by side so you can see the difference in person before you commit.
Wood railing systems include the handrail, balusters (spindles), newel posts and any trim or transitions. Everything is manufactured in our shop and installed by our crew. We coordinate staining and finishing so the railing matches the treads and the rest of the home.
Right now, most homeowners are choosing simple, square profiles. Clean lines. Understated. It’s a classic design that doesn’t go in and out of style. As one of our reps puts it:
“Don’t overthink this. That’s a classic look. It’s been around.”
That’s normal. Most people can’t picture it until they see it in person.
Our showroom on Resource Road has full stair displays with glass, metal and wood railing systems. You can walk up the stairs. Put your hand on the railing. See the materials side by side under real lighting.
No appointment needed. No pressure. No obligation. If you want to bring your contractor, your designer or your partner, bring them. The more eyes, the better the decision.
Walk-ins welcome. Book an appointment for a full design consultation.

Stairs are the one trade that touches every other trade’s timeline. When we’re late, your flooring guys wait. Your painters wait. Your client calls you asking what’s going on.
We don’t do that. Our sales reps have 70+ years of combined install experience. They catch problems at the quote stage that others miss until install day. You get a schedule you can count on and an install that’s done clean.
A sales rep visits your home or job site to take measurements. No charge.
Visit our showroom. See wood species, railing styles and hardware in person. We provide a design sketch and a detailed quote.
Everything manufactured in our 20,000 sq ft Kingston facility before we arrive at your site.
Our crews arrive on schedule, handle the full installation, and leave your space clean, tidy, and ready to enjoy.
We service Eastern Ontario from our Kingston facility. Our sales reps measure on-site at your location.
Handrails must be between 865 mm and 1,070 mm high. Baluster spacing can’t exceed 100 mm. Guards are required on any open side where the drop is more than 600 mm. Our sales reps confirm code compliance at the quote stage.
Yes. Tempered safety glass meets code when installed with the right hardware and post spacing. We spec all glass railing systems to meet Ontario building code before manufacturing.
It depends on the look you want, your budget and how the space is used. Glass opens sightlines. Metal is low-maintenance. Wood is warm and traditional. Visit our showroom to see all three side by side.
Yes. We measure on-site and match wood species, stain colour and profile to what’s already there. Bring a photo to the showroom if you want to start the conversation before the site measure.
